It's been a year....

We had a wonderful Christmas. It was amazing to watch Carter enjoy all of the fun Christmas activities. It was very busy. On Christmas eve, we went to my grandmother's at 6:00. We left there and went to Gary's sisters house at 7:30. We made it home around 9:30. We put on our Christmas pj's, set out the cookies and milk for Santa, made sure the reindeer had plenty of food, and headed off to bed. I set my alarm for 4:50 a.m. We had to wake Carter up at 5:15. He was so excited about his train table that he didn't even want to open any of his other presents. It was so funny. We had to drag him away from it around 6:30 so that we could continue our Christmas journey to my aunts house. We arrived there at about 7:15. We left there around 9:00 and headed over to my parents house. We stayed there until about 11:00 and headed home to open some more of Carter's presents. We still didn't get finished. I decided that we should put him down for a nap (as well as myself and Gary) so that he would be prepared for our last visit of the day. He was so excited that he couldn't sleep. He kept yelling for me, so I put him in the bed with me at about 1:00. We watched a little bit of a Christmas movie and fell asleep. Gary woke me up at 3:00 and we headed over to his aunts house. After we left there we went home and Carter finally finished opening his presents. My parents came over and we played Gary's new Wii all night. We finally went to bed around 2:00. Friday, Carter and I just relaxed and played all day long. We had to be at Gary's uncle's house at 5:00 for our last and final Christmas celebration for the year.

So it is now Saturday. (2 days after Christmas) and we are finally relaxing. I'm just sitting here thinking about how wonderful life is right now. The most precious baby boy anyone could ever dream of having is in a deep sleep in his room. Gary is entertaining us with the Wii. I have a box of delicious chocolates beside me. I have so much to be thankful for. There is also one more HUGE thing that makes today extra special....... One year ago today, we receive a phone call that will forever change our lives. Wendy, from our adoption agency, called to tell me that we had a referral. She gave us all of Carter's info and his two little precious pictures. We were on top of the world. I didn't think we could ever be any happier than that moment. Carter has brought so much joy and happiness to us!!!
